Take Notice - 8th grade parents especially
If you have enrolled your child at Kentwood or any other school where you are not a resident in that district, you may be surprised to know about new "school of choice" red tape that our students are going to be put through. What does this mean for us? My child brought handouts home, that seem to say we may not be allowed to attend Kentwood as promised. You must file a "School of Choice" form with the school you want to go to, and then be released from your home district before your district of choice will "choose" your child. Ask Asst. Principal Dan Bartels if you need clarification about the process.

I thought that this school of choice was a state law. My understanding was that after your child attended atleast 2 years of Charter that they could choise to enroll anywhere and that if there was room they could attend that school. What has changed?
